Tuscany Palace

The early Baroque Tuscany Palace forms an unmissable dominating feature of Hradčany Square. Initially medieval, later burgher houses were replaced by the aristocratic residence of Count Thun-Hohenstein and then the Grand Duchess of Tuscany, thanks to whom the palace, including its interiors, was fully completed. The palace still bears the family’s name today. After the creation of independent Czechoslovakia, it became the first seat of the new Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The palace underwent a complete and highly appreciated reconstruction in 1994-1997. Currently, it is used by the Legal and Consular Section of the Czech Republic´s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
