Slik Palace – Orphenica Private Art School

Pohořelec 111/25 (Pohořelec Street)

The history of the classicist Slik Palace or the U Šliků House dates back to the 17th century. Jindřich Slik adapted the original Renaissance house in the early Baroque style. Later, he sold the house to burgher owners, but its name has remained unchanged. In 1845, the front building was replaced by a new Classicist building. We still know the house in this form today. Since 1991, the ground floor has been the seat of the private elementary art school Orphenica, Ltd. With its capacity, it is one of the smallest schools of this type, and so it creates almost a family environment. The school focuses on teaching both music and art.
