NORBERT SCHEUER kniha Mutabor

It is a novel about the burden of mystery, painful beauty, the power of stories, and freedom from the curse through words. Nina, an orphan, is a young, abused girl with scars on her soul and body, desperate to find out anything about her origins: who her father was and where her mother, of whom she has only fragmentary memories, has disappeared. She feels like she is under a spell and is searching for a magic formula to break the spell as the caliph and his vizier were turned into storks in Wilhelm Hauff’s fairy tale. She is like one of the nymphs that emerge in the novel’s mythological metaphors, an innocent creature in a brutal world. And all those who know anything about her past or her parents remain stubbornly silent.
