John Boyne (* 1971) is one of our time’s most famous and highly regarded Irish writers. He studied English Literature in Dublin and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. He is the author of a number of novels for adults and five books for children and young adults. These include the international bestseller The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas ( in Czech, 2008), which was also adapted into a film. Other books that have been translated into Czech include The Heart´s Invisible Furies (2019), A Traveler at the Gates of Wisdom (2021), The Echo Chamber (2022), and All the Broken Places (2023).
