Dana Grigorcea (Switzerland)

Dana Grigorcea is a Swiss-Romanian writer and philologist, born in Bucharest and living in Zürich.  She studied philology, theatre and film direction, and journalism in Romania, Belgium and Austria. After an early journalism career she made her literary debut with Baba Rada (2011), followed by the award-winning Das primäre Gefühl der Schuldosigkeit (The Fundamental Feeling of Innocence, 2015) and Die Dame mit dem maghrebinischen Hündchen (the Lady with the Mahgrebian Lapdog, 2018). She also writes children’s books as well as essays and columns for newspapers and magazines, and frequently travels in Europe and abroad to give readings and lectures.
